Quan repartim les tasques que ha de fer cadascú pel manteniment i el correcte funcionament de casa nostra, la meva filla sempre demana tasques com cuinar o fregar i quan li diem que a ella li toca parar taula i desparar-la no li fa cap gràcia fer aquestes tasques. És un suplici per ella i per nosaltres. És en moments com aquest que em plantejo quin és el meu objectiu: ensenyar o que aprengui?
A mesura que els nostres fills creixen, ens adonem que ens demanen fer coses “de grans”, que els agrada ajudar i participar en tasques que molts cops ens semblem massa complicades, massa delicades o de massa responsabilitat per a ells.
Si busquem a les xarxes hi ha molts documents que ens expliquen quines tasques podem encomanar als nostres fills segons la seva edat. I segurament, segons com les hi presentem, immediatament decidiran que allò és un rotllo i que no ho volen fer. Ells volen fer coses de grans.
De vegades, com a pares, hem d’arriscar i deixar-los equivocar-se, si la conseqüència del seu error no posa en perill “la vida de ningú”. Valorem si volem que aprenguin a repetir les coses com les fem nosaltres o volem que aprenguin a fer coses per ells mateixos.
Si el que pretenem és ensenyar fent classes magistrals, no aprendran res o gairebé res, i no els engrescarem gens. Si ens ajustem els cinturons i els deixem conduir a ells, serà un aprenentatge des de la realitat i en trauran molt més profit.
No pensem únicament en com ens poden “treure” feina a nosaltres. Fem que ensenyar i aprendre sigui una combinació de joc on nosaltres no siguem examinadors que sols remarquen les errades. Fem de l’aprenentatge una estona divertida on combinem les feines que els agraden amb d’altres que no siguin tan divertides. D’aquesta manera no se sentiran “menystinguts”, no els farem sentir “petits”. A ningú li agrada que no creguin en ell, que pensin que no es capaç de fer-ho i que li donin les feines que no volen els altres.
Omplim-nos de paciència i anem més a poc a poc en el nostre dia a dia, segurament ens estalviarem molt de temps en discussions i retrets, en males cares i moments de tensió. Deixem-los que aprenguin de les seves errades i engresquem-los a continuar aprenent i creixent.
