Avui us porto un dels meus llibres preferits: “L’Elmer”, del David Mckee.
A la meva filla li agrada que li expliquis un munt de cops, i sempre descobrim algun nou aspecte per parlar de l’Elmer, de com és d’important per a la seva comunitat, com ser diferent et pot fer especial positivament, com d’important és estar content de tu mateix.
A la selva hi viu un grup d’elefants. Hi ha elefants grans, petits, joves, vells, grassos, prims, amb la trompa llarga, amb la trompa curta… El que tots tenen en comú és que són de color elefant. Tots menys un: l’Elmer
Un preciós àlbum il·lustrat, amb uns dibuixos molt simpàtics i divertits que acompanyen perfectament la història. Observeu com els colors acompanyen l’estat d’ànim que marca el text. Colors càlids per transmetre alegria, i freds per moments de tristor i malestar.
Una història molt bonica tant si poden llegir-la sols com si els hi hem d’explicar i ensenyar les il.lustracions.
Si els vostres fills són lectors una mica avançats, poden llegir el llibre tots sols gairebé d’una tirada. Si encara no tenen massa experiència com a lectors, expliqueu-los aquesta història. Treballeu amb ells els valors de la diferència, la diversitat, l’acceptació d’un mateix i dels altres, la tolerància i el respecte. Podeu treballar també com de bo és ser únic i diferent i no deixar-se portar per les modes o el que marca “el ramat”.
Podeu preguntar-los si creuen que és bona la diferència. Si és bo intentar ser com la resta en tot? Si ens hem d’avergonyir de ser com som? Quin paper volem fer dins el nostre grup? Per què és tan important sentir-se estimat?
