Protegim massa als nostres fills i filles, no els ensenyem el que costa guanyar aquella capsa de colors o aquell entrepà que han decidit llençar perquè no els agrada el fuet. Ens adonem, nosaltres, del que sacrifiquem per aconseguir tenir, o donar, un munt de bens materials?
Sembla que no ens agradi explicar als nostres fills allò que pensem que els pot entristir, i els sobreprotegim perquè pensem que si els diem les coses com són els fem mal. Però, realment els fem mal? No ensenyar als nostres fills el valor, el preu, de les coses els converteix moltes vegades en persones que no valoren el que tenen, que no paren d’acumular possessions sense més, per tenir i res més. Els ensenyem a valorar l’amor en quantitats materials, a pes.
Els nostres fills han de saber que el que tenen ens costa de guanyar, que anem cada dia a treballar per donar-los tot el que podem i més. Cal que els fem responsables i conscients del que passa al seu voltant. Que els expliquem les coses, de manera que ho entenguin, però que no els enganyem.
