Avui us porto un clàssic, ni més ni menys de l’any 1973, que ha trigat trenta anys en editar-se en castellà i he decidit portar-lo a un divendres “PerPensar” perquè veieu que fa anys que hi ha contes que busquen ajudar-nos i acompanyar-nos en el camí cap a fer-nos grans i estimar-nos a nosaltres mateixos.
És un conte senzill i que busca a través del seu personatge, un Bunyip, fer-nos reflexionar sobre qui som, anar-nos coneixent, i sobre l’autoestima i l’autoafirmació, i com de vegades els altres ens poden fer mal o ens poden ajudar en aquest camí.
El conte està escrit per la Jenny Warner i il.lustrat pel Ron Brooks. I en ell el seu protagonista, un animal mitològic australià que viu als pantans o als naixements dels rius, decideix sortir de les aigües per descobrir la seva identitat.
A partir d’aquí, el Bunyip anirà trobant-se altres animals que l’ajudaran en la seva cerca d’ell mateix responent a les seves preguntes, i també trobarà qui no el valorarà o qui farà que tot trontolli, fins que el naixement d’un igual fa que el Bunyip s’adoni de qui és i pugui ajudar a altres a construir la seva pròpia imatge.
Un conte diferent i bonic per parlar de com les persones formem la nostra pròpia imatge, i de com els altres ens poden influenciar.
